So there I was last Friday afternoon. Wandering around at LOLA fest waiting to could VJ (we were supposed to VJ for the entirety of the fest, but due to a tech issue that didn’t happen). And I saw the guys from a Horse and His Boy. An amazing band from London Ontario (trust me, these guys are up and comers for sure)… I wanted to VJ for them but couldn’t (see above) so I overheard someone mention mrghosty and beat detection and it was the guys from AHAHB.. anyway I promptly walked over to the table.. well read the article…
I didn’t realize the guys were giving an interview, I thought they were just hanging out… Sorry fellas. Though it’s kind of funny now that I know..
Home from London Ontario this afternoon.
Spent the past few days catching up with old friends, shopping at fave thrift/ vintage stores.. pics of cool things coming soon :).. LOLA was a lot of fun, sad it’s over…
My flight home today had the worst turbulence I’ve ever experienced.. I think that most people would have thought it minor, but i don’t really fly all that well, so for me it was a lot. Had the whole nervous sweaty palm thing happening. Anyway, very tired. will be back with fun stuff after some sleep.
Tonight I didn’t much of a chance to post any of our activities as VJ POMO and I tandem VJed sets at LOLA fest for Final Fantasy and NOMO. We had a great time tonight, and I think our sets were pretty kick ass. We have the bands to thank for that though, without their incredible music, we wouldn’t have risen to the occassion.
Thanks to the Folks at LOLAfest for having us come from Winnipeg to play here. We had a great time. Pics and videos coming in the next few days.
Well we’re prepping for some new stuff for tonight on the mainstage at LOLA. We may or may not be providing live visuals for Final Fantasy, but for sure will be for festival closers NOMO.
I’m a bit bummed that we didn’t get to mix as much as I wanted to this weekend, due to some technical issues, but last night getting to see the crowd respond to Kaki King and akron/ family with our visuals was pretty amazing. Won’t be getting down to LOLA until about 5 o’clock today to set up, then relax a bit till the sun goes down. Lots of interesting art around the city as well. Installations in Victoria Park, 3 local galleries as well as throughout the downtown. Pretty awesome this fest is.
