Someone at work just turned me onto the fact that the Oxford dictionary’s new fancy word of ‘09 to be included in its next edition is the word “unfriend”. As in removing a contact from a social networking site. And it being the internet of course, there has to be some kind of public outcry with people saying that it’s more accurate to use “defriend”. ...
